I thought the AHA guidelines recommended TCP of PEA/asystole only as a last resort? Seems logical when you've tried everything else...

And the AHA recommends amio for almost everything from toe pain to ventricular tachycardia too

AHA reccomendations are consensus based opionions published every 5 years (or longer), and while are a good starting place in your thought process, are far from the "final word".

I know everything we do now is supposed to be "evidence based", but that phrase always makes me think of the "parachute study" from 2003.
